You Could Earn Serious Cash In These 2 Careers

If you’re looking for a change of career, or just want to know how the other half live, you may want to consider these two professions. Over the last few years, they have consistently topped the lists of America’s best-paid jobs.

The only problem? To earn these kinds of pay packets you have to put in some serious years of graft. So just how do you go about landing the jobs which pay the big bucks

Lawyer

CNBC listed lawyers amongst the top career earners for 2016. Of course, it depends on the type of law practiced but on average lawyers can be earning a salary of $144,500.

The paycheck is part of the appeal, but this career has also become popular because of glamorous TV series and films. Adventure, intrigue, and luxury trappings all await if you believe some cop shows. Before that though, there’s a lot of hard work and learning to be done...

Becoming a lawyer, much like entering the medical profession, is hard work. You’ll need an undergraduate degree, but you’ll also need to specialize in a particular type of law.
Once you have the academic side sorted you’ll be on to the vocational stage. Lots of people do an undergraduate degree in law but far fewer stick with it to this stage. This will provide you with essential skills needed to be a lawyer.
You’ll then need to work under a more established legal practitioner. They’ll be able to take you through the available services for lawyers, the intricacies of different cases, and the law itself. After all that, you’ll be a full-fledged lawyer and earn one of America’s best salaries.

Anesthesiologist:

With an annual mean wage of $235,070, according to Forbes, Anesthesiologists are some of the most highly paid workers in America today. They are essentially, medical practitioners who are trained in anesthesia.

In the US you can only become an anesthesiologist by completing medical school and an accredited anesthesiology residency program. Fittingly, for such a high-paid career, training starts very early, as early as high school in fact.

Those looking to get into this career should already be creating a job path in high school. Excelling in advanced sciences like chemistry and biology will stand you in good stead. Ideally, you’ll need some voluntary work experience at a hospital too.

The hard work doesn’t end there either. Next, you’ll need to complete an undergraduate degree. A pre-med course will be essential as will a four-year undergraduate program, and that’s all before medical school.

At medical school students have to complete a medicine or osteopathy degree, followed by another four years in an anesthesiology residency. It’s then common to work side-by-side with a establishes anesthesiologist.
