Do Christians and those who've read the bible remember Aaron in the book of Exodus? The high priest of the Israelites during their sojourn in the wilderness and the elder brother of Moses? Talking about Moses, I once read that he is the most accepted religious figure from the old times. Moses is revered by Christians, Muslims and Judaists alike. It's difficult to argue that fact.
Back to what I was saying, remember what happened when Moses went to
Mount Sinai to get the 10 commandments from God? He appointed Aaron to
act as leader of the Israelites in the interim. Whilst Aaron was in
charge, a group of the Israelites became restive and asked that he made
them a golden calf so they could worship- idolatry.
Aaron bowed to the pressure and got a golden calf moulded for them so they could worship. The bible doesn't record any instance where Aaron worshipped the calf with them. God then informed Moses about what was going on, Moses rushed down from the mountain and got to where his people were. On inquiring and being told by Aaron about what led to such he destroyed the calf and according to the directive he got from God went ahead to deliver instant judgement(death) on over 3,000 of the guilty. I can't remember reading about any single punishment being meted on Aaron.
Now we all know Obama has been happily married to his beautiful wife for a couple of decades, a union which has produced two equally pretty daughters. Barack Obama ain't no gay! I followed his 2007 Presidential campaign where he was strongly against same-sex marriage and said he felt the government should be left out of it.
During his re-election campaign 2011, the gay lobby(which is massive in America by the way)was on his neck and this forced him to bend his stance and endorse gay marriage. In the end, like the biblical Aaron(first High priest of the Israelite), it could be the unrepentant gays and not Obama(first black President of the US) that will be judged. As the bible put it in Exodus chapter 32, "severe judgement came upon the people".
