US President, Barack Obama has called on states to increase computer security ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
This is coming after the Federal Bureau of Investigation found breaches in Illinois and Arizona’s voter registration databases.
Investigators are also seeking evidences of whether or not other states were targeted.
Meanwhile, officials and cyber security experts say recent breaches at the Democratic National Committee and in the Democratic Party were likely carried out by people within the Russian government.
Cyber security is expected to be a topic of discussion when president Obama meets with Chinese president Xi Jinping later this week.
