The EU Launches A Two-year Military Mission in C.A.R.EU has launched a two-year military mission in the Central African Republic.


The EU military advisory mission has indicated it will work towards a modernized, effective, inclusive and democratically accountable Central African Armed Forces.

The mission is expected to provide training and education to the Central African country’s army as well and officers respectively.
Also, staff of the country’s Ministry of Defence will be provided with strategic advice.
The Central African Republic has suffered civil war between 2013 and 2015 while French intervention and the deployment of 12,000 MINUSCA peacekeepers helped reduce the violence.


Deputy Regional Director for west and central Africa, Amnesty International, Stephen Cockburn welcomed the decision of the EU to send in troops to the C.A.R.
