Staff of Nigeria’s Finance Ministry Protest Over Unpaid Allowances

Staff of Nigeria’s Federal finance ministry on Monday shut the gates of the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja  in protest against the minister.



The protesting staff and their union  refused to address the press on the nature of their agitations .
Their chants and placards indicate the grouse is against non payment of allowances, incentives and other welfare packages.


The inscriptions on the placards accused the minister of intimidating staff with police.
The protesting staff demand that the minister be removed from office as she was destroying the ministry.
Efforts to get the ministry’s comment on the issue failed.

The protest is coming soon after unconfirmed rumours of the minister’s sack went viral last week.
