6. Cinched in Clothes - Look for snug, tailored pieces. Everything from your casual t-shirts to your button-down blouses should be fitted, nipping in slightly at the waist. Stretchy materials hug your curves and work especially well if you have a flat stomach.

I always take in my clothes at least 2 inches extra around the waist. When making custom pieces, I give my waist measurement as 24" instead of 26" as this makes the waist area really snug and gives the illusion of a smaller waistline.

7. Wrap Dresses - There’s a reason why designer Diane Von Furstenberg’s classic wrap dress never goes out of style. Any woman can wear the easy wrap dress — and dresses that accent the middle are a good way to make the waist look smaller

9. Nude Heels - A neutral heel is your best friend when creating the illusion of a smaller waist. The closer the shoe's color is to your natural leg or hosiery tone, the longer and leaner your body will look. And the leaner you look, the smaller your waist will appear.

10. Flared Skirts - Wear an A-line skirt when you want to tuck in your top.
Look for skirts that fit at or around your natural waist in fabrics that are stiff enough that they don't just hang limply over your hips and instead flare out away from your body instead. Bodysuits are also great if you want to achieve the look of tucking in your shirt without the potential bunching and ride-ups of normal tops.

-Corsets - Worn under gowns as a figure enhancing item of lingerie in centuries gone by, the corset has gained renewed popularity recently for providing an effortlessly sexy silhouette, whether under other clothes or on its own. Steel-boned corsets (not as painful as they sound - promise!) do the best job of cinching in your waist, can actually permanently reduce the size of your waist with prolonged wear!

13. Adjust your posture - Stand with your back straight, shoulders dropped and back and your weight on one leg, hips thrust out. This creates an S-shaped curve in the body as seen in majority of my recent pictures.
To create this S-curve when you're sitting, simply cross your legs or put your weight onto one hip
