APC Kogi State Governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu Dies

APC Kogi State Governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu Dies, nigeria, apc
The Kogi State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abubakar Audu died yesterday, a few minutes after INEC declared Saturday’s election inconclusive.

Prince Audu will be buried this morning in Kogi according to Islamic rites.
The exact cause of his death has not been revealed.

Before his demise, Audu had received the highest number of votes in Saturday’s governorship election. He scored 240,867 while Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 199,514 votes.

The poll was however declared inconclusive by INEC because the total number of registered voters in 91 polling units, in 18 local government areas, where elections were cancelled is 49,953, significantly higher than the 41,353 votes that separate Audu and Wada.
