LG G5 Expectations

LG G5 Expectations

Few months before a new device is about to be launched turns out to be the most exciting part for an enthusiast.

LG have been releasing fantastic smartphones in their LG G series, and their ability to build the best smartphones has been proved with last few models. LG G3 and LG G4 were fabulous – especially anyone into photography and performance would certainly have to look no further. With another season approaching for a new LG phone, how well they can continue their legacy this year?

We have sorted out few LG G5 rumors off the internet and tried to come up with a clear picture of what the LG G5 might look like.

Premium Metal Build

No matter how premium leather is, it simply doesn’t go much well with metal. LG G4 had metallic touch onto its casing, but the feel turned quite cheap with the improper touch of metal. Speaking of visual appeal, the premium-ness doesn’t get any closer to the latest flagship releases from other companies like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus or Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, HTC One M9 etc. LG may correct their posture about a premium feel in the upcoming LG G5, improved usage of glass and metal would be more appreciated in the present standard.

Fingerprint Scanner

Almost obviously, the LG G5 is going to feature an all new fingerprint scanner for improved security, data protection and Android payment. LG may even set up a new payment gateway like Apple and Samsung did in the past years. Even though it’s still not sure where the fingerprint scanner deserves to be, but the prominent power button in the rear seems like the perfect place for scanner placement.

4k Display

Sony introduced the first ever smartphone with a 4k display on their Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. As the commercial sales haven’t begun in all parts of the world yet, we don’t really know whether the 4k display on a handheld display is actually any good. But speaking of LG’s reputation to be one of the first companies to feature a QHD display, we could put our hopes higher about using a 4k display on the next flagship. Power management would certainly be an issue in such case, though.

Improved Battery and Power Saving

Smartphones aren’t so smart unless the battery gets improved. Also, adaptive fast charging is the crying need for all latest smartphones. People are busy these days and having to wait to juice up a smartphone is probably the most unproductive thing to do on a busy day. Samsung’s Ultra Power Saving mode is stunning, Sony had their Stamina Mode since long ago and the new Low Power Mode on iOS 9 is sort of impressive as well. With so many power enhancement options around, it’s LG’s time to introduce something better in the power front.

Faster Camera Launch

The camera on LG G4 is already fast enough. But with Samsung’s shortcut to launching the camera by double-tapping the home button, the similar shortcut on LG G4 using the volume button looks pretty slow.  Samsung takes around 0.5 seconds while LG’s volume button would take around 2 seconds to launch the camera – LG may want to improve that in the upcoming LG G5.

Conclusion

Comparing the other Android counterparts, these are the possible list of basic expectations consumers would want from LG.
