A 30-year-old man, Rich Effiok,has admitted to stabbing his girlfriend after three rounds of sex.
Effiok, who identified his dead girlfriend as Bassey Udoh (23), said these occurred at Nelson Mandela Street in Calabar, Cross River State.
The suspect made the confessional statement at the headquarters of the state police command on Diamond Hill Road, when he was paraded along with other suspected criminals by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Henry Fadairo.
Effiok, who hails from Akpabuyo Local Government Area, said:
“The issue began when I had three rounds of sex with her and provided her with N1,000 as transportation back home, but she requested for N5,000. Bassey is my girlfriend . We have been in relationship for two years now.
When she rejected the money that I provided her, we began fighting and I brought out a sharp kitchen knife and stabbed her. After stabbing her, she screamed and neighbors broke into my room.
They saw her on the floor full of blood. She later passed away,” he said.
According to him, it was his neighbors that called the policemen that arrested him.
