However the unsuspecting nursing mom left her baby, a babysitter and the dog inside the car and wound down the windows to allow ventilation into the car before goin into the store.
While she was busy purchasing items from the store, the dog allegedly made straight for the little baby to eat her up while the babysitter screamed for help but all to no avail.
The yells by the babysitter drew the attention of two security personnel at the store to the car but by that time the baby, recognized as Chinonso, had been attacked severally on the abdomen by the dog, leaving the baby in a pool of blood.
The dog had gone crazy and was barking to scare onlooker, by the time the baby’s mother knew what was happening and rushed to the scene. The baby was taken to a closeby medical center along Nnebisi Street, but it was too late. By the time they got to the medical center the baby, had already passed away.
“Madam carry the dog and baby and asked us to remain inside the car, because the dog was to be treated at the veterinary, suddenly I saw the dog moving closer to the baby and I yelled for help when the dog opened its mouth and I ran out of the car to contact madam but she did not come on time” the babysitter said.
The woman has been wedded for 3 years without a baby close relatives said.
The woman's husband responded, saying “my wife said it is the devil’s work and the devil’s work will take her out of my home, I have cautioned her about the dog when I observe that the dog had been acting crazy.
She still kept carrying the dog claiming that she was going to give treatment to the dog. This is how the devil had ruined her”.
