Rafael Nadal became the victim of the first major shock at this year’s Wimbledon, as the former champion was knocked out of the second round by wildcard maverick Dustin Brown

The German has since slipped to 102 in the world, but he wowed Centre Court with a performance which belied his ranking, dispatching the Spaniard in four sets – winning 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Brown has already tasted victory against the 14-time Grand Slam winner, claiming a 6-4, 6-1 victory on the grass at Halle last year.

But this victory is surely the best of his career, with the 30-year-old progressing to the third round of a Grand Slam for only the second time in his career – having made the same stage at the All England Club in 2013.
