If any thing to go by, this football match can unarguably pass as the joke of footballing century as Micronesia lost to Vanuatu 46-0 today at the AUSTRALIA & OCEANIA: Pacific U-23 Games.
Micronesia Head Coach, Foster had this to say of his team: "They're boys, not men, and they've been playing against well-seasoned men. I'm hoping the majority of our boys will be here for at least eight years."
The previous biggest win in the history of international football in a senior international was Australia's 31-0 win over American Samoa in 2001 but Organisers say this will surely take the pie. Although this may not go into the record books as Micronesia is not a member of FIFA and it was an under-23 game.
The half-time score was 24-0 but Vanuatu, ranked 200 in the world, showed their opponents no mercy, almost doubling their tally in the second half, this means micronesia conceed an average of 1 goal in every 2minutes of the game.
This type of score line will surely make my Nigerian brothers scream 'Omo see gobe!'
