An ESPY Award ( Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) is an accolade presented by the American cable television network ESPN to recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony - "Wikipedia"
This year ESPN decided to honour Caitlyn Jenner with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. In her 25 minutes teary acceptance speech, Caitlyn pointed out that 'Trans people deserve something vital: they deserve your respect'.
The award comes with alot of backlashing on ESPN that the award was given to her based on publicity and money rather than giving the award to other deserving athletes. The outcry erupted when late teenage basketball player Lauren Hill, was passed over for the award.
Hill achieved her goal of playing college basketball while battling an inoperable brain tumor and raising money for cancer research.
ESPN only gave that award to Caitlin Jenner for publicity, there's far more deserving people. Disappointed.

ESPN gave Jenner a 10 minute video for turning into a girl yet gave a little girl battling cancer a 3 minute one. Sorry but I'm disgusted.

Lauren Hill should win the Arthur Ash Courage Award. No question. Get out of here with this Jenner nonsense. #ESPYS

She was in company of her 10 children and step children who she planned will join her on stage but they could only show their love from the stands
