Mauritius has appointed Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim as its
first woman president today, Thursday, 4th of June, 2015 after
her predecessor stepped down from the ceremonial position last week. It is the
first time in the history of Mauritius that a woman will become President. She
just made history!
