A businessman and Director of Sunday and Andoya Aluminium, Mr. Sunday Anagwe, kidnapped in the early hours of Monday May, 18, 2015 has been released after paying N1.5m.

Gistend contacted Mr. Anagwe on the phone, he was audibly shaken from the ordeal he had gone through in the hands of the kidnappers and he said he was scared of saying anything because he had been warned by the kidnappers to remain quite.
He however confirmed the payment of the N1.5million ransom to regain his freedom after the kidnappers reduced the money from the initial N10million they initially requested for.
Gistend also gathered the victim was also handed his car in which the kidnappers drove him away, mobile phones and some other accessories collected during the kidnap, after the wife had dropped the money in the agreed location.
The Mr. Anagwe said he was unable to drive himself after been released and had to call his younger brother to come pick him up somewhere around Vandeikya local government area in Benue state and was immediately driven to a hospital in an undisclosed location.
Anagwe said since his arrest and release, he has not heard anything from the police. He also denied that the police were involved in the negotiations that led to his eventual release.
Tension around the urban wards one and two in Obudu local government area is high even as there have been several arrests by officers of the Nigeria Police Force NPF, as they begin stop and search operations.
